We have been in touch with hand plane expert, Rob Cosman - classes are being scheduled for the weekend of January 23rd, 2009. The Saturday class will be "hands-on" with a limited number of openings; the Friday classes will be repeats of the popular ones we've hosted before. His classes are now posted in our class section link.
We're also re-booking dates with Master Windsor Chairmaker, Dave Hamilton; this next time we are going to be offering a Windsor Rocking Chair class for February 2009. Actually, if you've never taken one of Dave's Windsor Chair classes before, you will still be able to take this class and make the basic continuous arm chair. Dates are: Friday, Feb. 13, Saturday, Feb. 14, and Sunday, February 15.

Please make sure you are signed-up to get the "Seattle" Woodcraft version of our e-mail newsletter. How would you know which version you are now getting? The Seattle version always starts with: "Dear Friend of Seattle Woodcraft" and ends with "Helping You Make Wood Work..." You can change your sign-up at any time for the Seattle version; just go to woodcraft.com or woodcraftnews.com page and "update your subscription by indicating that you live close to the 'Seattle' Woodcraft store and would like to be notified of local in-store events and specials." Since the monthly hard copy flier is generally on a four month advance planning cycle, we do use our weekly email newsletter for last minute updates about store happenings.

- October 3, 4 & 5 - Seattle Woodcraft's Sixth Annual In-Store Woodworking Show
- Saturday, November 8th, "Turn for the Troops" - your chance to show support of our troops by turning a pen. Create it for free and write a note of thanks to the USA's men and women in uniform.
- November 26, we will close at 4 pm on "Thanksgiving Eve."
- November 28... "holiday hours" begin.
- December 6, "Book Author Signing Day" at Seattle Woodcraft
- December 24, we will close at 4 pm on Christmas Eve.
- December 31, we will close at 4 pm on New Year's Eve.
2009 Dates:
- Weekend of January 23rd, noted author and instructor, Rob Cosman, returns for hand tool classes.
- February 13, 14 & 15, Master Chairmaker Dave Hamilton's Windsor Chair Classes. This class' tuition would make a great gift idea.
