Router Skills 101

Description: The router is arguably the most versatile tool in the shop. In this class you will learn how to choose and set up plunge and fixed base routers for basic operations. We will discuss cutter selection and use various profiles to safely route decorative edging and cut basic joinery(rabbets and dados). This is a "hands on" class.

Dovetail Jig Introduction

Description: In this class we will use the Porter Cable 4212 to cut half blind and through dovetails. The 4212 is easy to set up and to use for building drawers, boxes and other case work. Everyone will have an opportunity to use the jig and make strong, decorative and efficient joints.

Description: In this class Students will make a decorative shelf with drawer in it. During the class you will learn how to prepare the wood, make dado cuts, rabbet joints, and pattern routing. The power tools you will be using are the Table Saw, Jointer, Planer, Band saw, and Router Table. This is an excellent introduction to woodworking class, and you get to build and take home a great project that's really useful.
