Hand Tools Chest

Description: Looking to make a more challenging and complex project that is useful and show cases your skill? The Hand Tool Chest will allow you to learn how to incorporate different forms of joinery and build on your wood working skills. Students will make a tool chest (12 inches deep, 24 inches wide and 13 inches tall) that can house their hand tools such as chisels and planes. Students will learn how to make mortise and tenons, dovetails, make drawers with dividers. Students will be able to choose between Peruvian Walnut or Cherry.

Description: This class will be a great first step into carving. Not only will you learn the basics of carving with a whittling knife and keeping your knife sharp using a stone and strop, but you will also take home your first carving project (choose from) a dog, a whale, a giraffe or a duck. Our experienced instructor will review safety procedures, different carving styles, and tools you will need to expand your new found hobby.

Resawing Lumber CLS691

Description: Students will learn how to resaw lumber using a bandsaw and tablesaw. Students will learn how to select the proper blade for resawing, how to set up a bandsaw to properly resaw lumber, how to set for blade drift and proper resawing techniques. Students will also learn how to accurately resaw lumber in order to get their desired dimensions. Students will get hands on experience re-sawing lumber on the bandsaw and tablesaw.

Description: You will make a Sapele and Maple Floating Top End Table: 22.5” wide x 22.5” deep x 27” tall. This class teaches and reinforces fundamental woodworking skills and introduces students to loose tenon and mortises by using a Festool Domino Joiner. These fundamentals include design of furniture, using contrasting woods, stock preparation, using a taper jig on a table saw, making a panel, using a Festool Domino Joiner, using a router and preparing a project for finish.
