Description: Charles is a very skilled flute builder and a talented musician. He has been building Native American Style Flutes for over 25 years. Charles started building flutes by hand carving them which took many hours to build just one. As the demands for his flutes grew, Charles began using a lathe and other power tools. Today when Charles builds his flutes he adds personal touches such as hand carvings, wood burnings, and other adornments. Charles will demonstrate how he chooses, prepares and works the wood to build these one of a kind instruments. Charles will not only teach you to build a flute, he’ll teach you to play it afterwards. Charles will be glad to answer any questions you have about flute building. Charles will be giving a short performance on one of his flutes at the end of the class. We trust that this will be the first of many classes Charles will teach for us here at Woodcraft.
